You should take a bus to Yunomine Onsen at Kii-Tanabe station because there is only a few buses depart from Shirahama station.
It takes about 1 hour 40 minutes from Tokyo station to Nagoya station, costs 10,360JPY. Wide View Nanki is the best way to go to Shingu station from Nagoya station. Yunomine Onsen is located in between Akagi-goe and Dainichi-goe on Nakahechi route "The Imperial Route to Kumano" of Kumano Kodo pilgrimage network. The Dainichi-goe route is a short (3.5 km/2.17 miles) but relatively steep trail over Mt. Dainichi that links Kumano Hongu Taisha with Yunomine Onsen. It takes about 90~120 minutes including breaks.
